Illusion of Belief is a cult survivor memoir, but it is not only a cult story. It is the story of what happens when the beliefs handed to you in childhood become the lens through which you see everything: your worth, your relationships, your right to take up space.

From age four, Tully Quinn grew up inside a high-control religious organisation, a closed world with its own rules, its own hierarchy, and its own version of truth. What was handed to her there was not presented as belief. It was presented as fact. The difference between those two things took years to see.

This is not a book about religion. It is a book about inherited belief systems, the ones absorbed in childhood before we had the language to question them, the ones that shape how we move through the world long after the environment that created them is gone. It is written for everyone who has ever felt that something was off but couldn’t name it.

Illusion of Belief is Book One of the Tully Quinn Series, a four-book memoir following one woman’s journey from coercive control and religious trauma through chronic illness, recovery, and the long, self-directed work of building a life on chosen beliefs rather than inherited ones.
